Hugh Jackman to begin filming 'Wolverine' in Australia

Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman will begin filming the sequel to the 2009 film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, in Sydney, Australia next week.

"The Wolverine," the next spinoff film in the X-Men series, is scheduled to begin filming this August in Sydney. Hugh Jackman, a Sydney native, will reprise his famous role as Wolverine, a superhero with metal claws. Jackman first played the role in the X-Men film released in 2000.

Director James Mangold rejected reports that Jessica Biel had pulled out as the female lead at the last minute but refused to comment on who would be playing the role of the villainous mutant Viper.

The Wolverine is scheduled to hit theaters on July 23, 2013.
